Q. Actually, how fast do you say it is?
A. The download speed varies depending on the distance from the router, but it's around 200Mbps. It's comfortable to watch videos via streaming and download large files as well.

[High-speed communication service using low orbit satellites]
By launching a large number of satellites, communication is possible with the satellites always in the sky. Even though the communication range of each satellite is small, Starlink covers the communication area by passing over the sky in rotation with many satellites.Up to 50-60 satellites can be launched at a time, and a total of 180 satellites have been launched so far. 3,400 aircraft have been launched.
Starlink has an altitude of about 550 km, which is about 1/65 of a high-orbit satellite. It is a communication service using artificial satellites. Compared to conventional high-orbit satellites, it uses low-orbit satellites, which are in a much lower orbit, making it possible to communicate with low latency.
Traditionally, satellite communications have mainly been via geostationary satellites launched at an altitude of approximately 36,000 km, resulting in round-trip delays of around 0.2-0.3 seconds, and voice delays of around 0.5 seconds. This has made it possible to implement high-capacity communications with less delay than in the past. It's about the distance from Osaka to Tokyo. Therefore, there is less delay.
In conventional methods, to communicate overseas, physical cables known as undersea cables are laid by connecting numerous cables together. Due to their physical nature, these cables have been prone to being severed by various objects passing over them, leading to multiple instances of disruptions in the past. Once severed, restoration of these cables requires a significant amount of time.
Using Starlink eliminates that problem, providing high-speed, low-latency broadband internet even in remote islands and rural areas of Malaysia. Additionally, in situations like disasters where infrastructure is damaged and communication becomes impossible, having a portable power source and Starlink enables emergency communication and connectivity.
